Situace v Keni
Just to keep you briefed on the current situation on the ground. All our safaris have been operating normally and upto today only one group of clients staying in Western Kenya have had to alter their safari itinerary slightly. All other safaris and holidays have continued unaffected and clients are experiencing no problems.
The majority of the problems are located in Western Kenya (Kisumu, Kakamega, Kisii, Kapsabet and Eldoret) and most of what is being shown on the news channels is in these areas. Majority of the safaris in operation go no where near these areas but stick to the main parks of Masai Mara, Amboseli, Samburu, Shaba. Mt Kenya and Tsavo. These locations and the roads between these are not experiencing any problems and vehicles are travelling between these areas as normal. Nairobi and the coast have had some problems which have now been controlled by the police forces and are calm at this time. All movements in the two main cities are co-ordinated carefully by us together with the Kenya Association of Tour operators and the security forces to ensure clients are kept safe at all times.
Today is the first working day we have had since the 24th December and so shops are open and all supplies are now being restocked. Today has been the most peaceful day we have had yet and things definitely seem to be calming down. We feel that with people now needing to be back at work the problems will reduce significantly and hopefully stop very soon.
